Publishing Assistant - Rockstar Needed to Manage Projects
We are hiring a dedicated and well-organised publishing assistant.

We need you to assist our authors to go from manuscript to published book that is globally available in 12 weeks.

We are 9 years into our journey as a modern self-publishing company and have been growing at a rapid pace.

We are currently a team of 6 full-time remote staff and over 30+ freelancers.

Due to the growth of the business, we are looking for a publishing assistant to join us.


Responsibilities include:


  • You will need to guide authors through the publishing process (training will be provided).
  • Liaise between authors and editors, cover designers, typesetters, illustrators etc.
  • Jump on calls with authors should a project hit a roadblock to assess where the issue has arisen and of course resolve the issue.
  • Onboarding calls with authors to assist them with delivering the key information we need to get started (training will be provided).
  • Reviewing more complex publishing proposals to assess resources needed to deliver (training will be provided).
  • Ability to review and make sense of detailed feedback submitted by authors on illustrations, covers and other materials.
  • Must then submit this feedback clearly and concisely to cover designers, illustrators etc.

Skills required:


  • Attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with the team internally and externally with authors.
  • Proficiency in English and ability to write very well.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Skills not required, but a plus:

  • Experience with Trello
  • Publishing knowledge or experience in the industry.
