Croydon - Fitter - Salary £25-28k - Technology
My client are leaders in Technology and are innovators in the industry.

The company are increasingly growing to meet the advancing demands of product development and are looking for a permanent Fitter.


Core Responsibilities

  • Overhaul of cooler groups, transmissions, couplers and engine rafts based primarily in the workshop.
  • Mechanical fitting, assembly, strip, survey and test
  • Read drawings, identify components, assemble and/or repair mechanical equipment
  • Maintain good quality and efficiency
  • Flexibility of skills to carry out testing, basic wiring and mechanical fitting
  • Maintain good housekeeping, awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements
  • Ability to complete technical documentation as work is progresses
  • To perform other duties as assigned from time to time

Professional Experience & Education**:


  • Minimum four years mechanical fitting, preferably for rotating equipment
  • Preferably timeserved apprentice trained or other relevant qualification
  • Ability to work to quality guidelines within ISO 9001 and RISAS
  • Working knowledge of safety systems (advantageous)
  • Experience of lean manufacturing principals e.g., 5s & 7 wastes (beneficial not crucial)
  • A good understanding of machining practices
  • Good manual dexterity to handle a number of mechanical fitting tasks

Package Details:


  • 36.5 working week; 07:00 15:00 Mon Thurs and Fri 07:00 13:30
  • 20 days holiday (pro rata)
