The role of Health & Safety Advisor sits within the Health and Safety Team.

This Team provides business wide leadership, strategy and direction integrating business and group Health and Safety policies, programs and processes in support of operational excellence, legal compliance and safe working practices.


  • What _you'll_ be doing_
As a Safety Advisor you will be working as part of project teams on multi-million pound energy construction projects. You'll advise, coach, mentor, influence and monitor best practice projects safety management.

Assisting with the effective coordination of Contractor safe works methodologies and client interface activities will be a primary focus along with auditing, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting.


You'll support the project team - this includes interaction with engineering, project management, contractors and other project stakeholders to ensure effective works planning and coordination; with regard to Health and safety performance to ensure everyone affected by our activities remain safe.


  • What _you'll_ bring_


We'll look for you to be fully Microsoft Office conversant with a Health and Safety Qualification ranging from European Qualifications Framework levels, 8, 7, 6 or 5 (dependent on IOSH acceptance criteria).

You'll hold IOSH Technical Member status or above. You'll also bring experience gained in an engineering and construction safety role relating to energy projects e.g. generation projects, transmission networks or a closely related large scale construction project.

The following skills and experience are desirable:

  • Occupational Health and Safety Degree
  • Formal certified qualifications in 45001 Internal or Lead auditor
  • Trained Structured Incident Investigation Technique
  • Registered with IOSH for 'Initial Professional Development' (IPD) and the IOSH 'Continuing Professional Development' (CPD) scheme
