Service Overview
This post is Gwent Wide, so access to a vehicle is essential.

The postholder will support people with Mental Health, Autism, or a Learning Disability across Gwent

The postholder will support participants, volunteers and individuals in supported employment.

Job Purpose
Supporting and mentoring participants with Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disabilities along their pathways towards employment.

Supporting and mentoring staff with a learning disability that are employed on the 'No More Barriers' project.

Using our online database system to input and update contract paperwork and participant information in line with GDPR guidelines.

Liaising with Growing Space staff and with external partners as required to further support participants on the 'No More Barriers' project.

Provide regular updates and reports to line managers.

Key Responsibilities

To provide high quality support for people with mental health, autism or a learning disability accessing the 'No More Barriers' project across Gwent which includes support at external work or volunteer placements.
To support and mentor staff with a learning disability employed in the 'No More Barriers' project, setting worthwhile work experience, goals and outcomes.
To provide training, support and setting worthwhile work experience goals and outcomes for people with mental health, autism or learning disabilities.
To support the implementation and development of the 'No More Barriers' project that meets all targets set within appropriate timescales.
To deliver a highquality outcome focused supported employment programme, being creative in the approach to engaging with participants.
To attend networking events as directed.
To deliver outcome focused support within existing social enterprises.
To input and update Lamplight system, and any other contract and participant information in line with GDPR guidelines.
To provide regular updates and reports to your line manager and other third parties in line with contract requirements.
Any other reasonable duties.

Person Specification

Person Specification
Proven work experience as a trainer, training facilitator or similar role

Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)

Experience of working with people with autism or a learning disability

Qualifications and Skills
MS Office proficiency

PGCE - Certificate of Education

Advanced organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments

Strong communication skills

Knowledge and Understanding
Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques

Knowledge about the barriers faced by people with Mental Health, Autism or a Learning Disability

Competencies
Full clean Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
