The role
The position of HR Administration Assistant Intern is based in the FT's Editorial department. The role is part of a small team providing administrative support for journalists and the management team.

We are looking for a personable and motivated intern to support the team in day-to-day administrative tasks, activities and global HR initiatives.

This is a three month internship and is paid the London Living Wage. Following a successful review there is the potential for an additional three month extension.


If you are looking to start your career in Human Resources or office administration and build real-world experience with onboarding, payroll and the coordination of HR policies and procedures, this is the internship for you.


Key responsibilities:


  • Support with the onboarding process, collating new starter documentation
  • Completing references for new starters
  • Monthly payroll processing of timesheets using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Filing employee documentation
  • Drafting promotion/transfer/salary increase letters
  • Responding to general employee queries
  • Monitoring of probation periods

How we work
This internship is for 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Our hybrid setup means staff are expected to come into the office 3 days a week, specifically Tuesday-Thursday.

Our office is located across the street from St. Paul's Cathedral and is easily accessible from all corners of London.

There are the main train terminals such as Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Blackfriars, City Thameslink or Waterloo all situated within walking distance or there are several tube stations within a few mins walk such as Mansion House, St.

Paul's, Bank or Barbican.
