DIRECTOR'S ASSISTANT - FROME LIVESTOCK MARKET
-
Sales clerking and weighing of livestock for auctioneers on sale days
:

-
Use of administrative software such as Canva and Newline:

-
Administration for the Directors - this will include general admin such as typing letters, organising meetings, taking minutes etc.
-
Coordination of activities outside of the usual business such as hosting events, meetings for outside groups and potential networking events for farmers.
-
Record keeping including Farm Assurance, Health & Safety, staff training, licensing etc.
-
Managing issues and problems that arise from sales.

Answering the phone and dealing with general enquiries

Providing cover in the sales office when needed.

  • An approachable, friendly and confident personality
  • Agricultural experience; the understanding of different farming systems and terminology
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills in person and over the phone
  • Basic numeracy, literacy and grammar skills
  • Competency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • The ability to work under pressure during a live auction
  • Experience with auction sales would be advantageous however not essential.
