As the Carriageworks Arts Promotions Officer you'll thrive on delivering a whole range of promotional activity for the venue's year-round programme, which includes the very best touring theatre shows, top class children's theatre, stand-up comedy, art house cinema and its much-loved family pantomime.

About you
As the Carriageworks Arts Promotions Officer, you will bring to the role:

  • Excellent IT skills including web-based technology and social networking
  • An ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a high level with excellent attention to detail
  • A proven track record of working on digital platforms
  • Experience of managing and delivering promotional campaigns in a service or operational area relevant to the post
  • An ability to work effectively with others to deliver across projects

About the role


You'll liaise with visiting companies from all over the UK and beyond, the talented Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers, the media, and a wide range of internal and external partners.

Be responsible for raising orders, updating finance spreadsheets, invoicing, and maintaining accurate records of the Carriageworks' marketing spend.

Evenings and weekend work is sometimes necessary to ensure the smooth delivery of events in partnership the Operations team and visiting companies (time off in lieu arrangement).

Job purpose


To support the various events presented at the Carriageworks Theatre by Leeds Arts, Events and Venues service (LAEV) by delivering its promotional activity and supporting the Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers.


Responsibilities

  • To support the Communications Manager in the development of the Carriageworks Theatre's promotional strategy and deliver its implementation within the overarching LAEV communications strategy.
  • In association with the Communications Manager, commission the design and production of online and offline promotional assets including seasonal brochures and print, website and social media assets.
  • To create content for the Carriageworks Theatre social media platforms and manage these accounts.
  • To plan and schedule promotional activity for the Carriageworks Theatre in line with the LAEV promotional schedule.
  • Work with the Communications and Programming Manager to identify opportunities for audience development and implement schemes to attract new audiences.
  • Evaluate marketing activity, monitor sales, analyse audience data and respond with targeted sales campaigns.
  • Support the administration and promotion of the venue's youth theatre, The Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers.
  • To take responsibility for the processing of purchase orders as required.

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification.
