The role
Our centralised corporate services departments operate on a global scale, but work like a local team.

Combining their experience and expertise, they work collaboratively with the aim to continuously improve our vital people and business functions.

We arecurrently expanding our Procurement capabilities to meet the needs that our business growth requires.
We currently have a temporary position as Junior Buyer available in our Gatwick office.


The position plays a pivotal part in ensuring material flow from suppliers, resolving technical and financial queries with relevant stakeholders, and working closely with logistics department to ensure goods and services reach vessels in their locationstimely for the seismic projects.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure requisitions are processed to fulfil purchase demand for equipment and services
  • Provide a proactive and professional service to satisfy internal customers whilst maintaining adequate controls and safeguards which protect the Company's interests.
  • Working closely with other functions as necessary, manage all purchasing aspects to ensure purchases are executed in accordance with technical, program, cost and performance (quality and delivery) requirements. Manage risks and opportunities.
  • Provide support for strategic purchasing frameworks.
  • To understand technical requirements on requisitions to help the vessels with queries to suppliers to ensure the correct materials/services/equipment are purchased.
  • Confirm open orders with suppliers and keep the requisitioners informed.
  • Chase orders to committed dates and keep the requisitioners informed.
  • To review suppliers in collaboration with the Supplier Management Team, creating NCRs where required in order to improve relationships and supplier's KPIs.
  • To negotiate quotes with suppliers, ensuring it has the quality, optimum prices and deliveries with suppliers for equipment/materials and services purchased.
  • Solve invoice queries to ensure payments are processed and deliveries are not stopped
  • Work with the Chiefs and Operations Managers to ensure supply routes for future demand. This will entail meeting with and reviewing potential suppliers, and onboarding new suppliers in accordance with new supplier process
  • Have an awareness of future projects and prepare for the challenges of the new locations and suppliers.
  • Support the Supplier Management with supplier visit schedules, meetings and reporting.
  • Support compliance and drive it into suppliers and relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute towards and act upon review of supplier delivery performance
  • Run purchasing reports for requestors and analysis for relevant stakeholders.

Education and experience

  • Proven experience in an administrative role
  • Degree level or equivalent would be desirable
  • CIPS qualified or studying towards would be desirable
  • Ability to identify suppliers and manage the quotation lifecycle
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
