A fantastic opportunity for a Head of Claims Analytics has become available.

Reporting to the Group's Chief Pricing Officer with close day-to-day working alongside the Claims Director, as Head of Claims Analytics you will lead Claims Analytics for the Granite Group.

You will support the delivery of Claims initiatives through solid understanding of the Claims operation, a commercial eye for potential improvement, and strong leadership and stakeholder management.


You will provide robust analytics on complex insurance claims issues, legislation and market trends, strengthening the link between Claims, Reserving and Pricing.

Hybrid with office days in Sevenoaks, London and/or Liverpool


Working hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5:30pm

What you will be doing:


  • Lead the Group's Claims Analytics function, managing stakeholders across Claims, Reserving, Pricing and the Executive Committee.
  • Identify, quantify, drive and monitor Claims Saving Initiatives for Haven Claims supported by robust analytics and automated MI.
  • Understand, analyse and communicate on complex Claims legislative and market trend matters such as the introduction of OIC Portal, supported by triangulated analysis.
  • Work closely with the Claims, Pricing and Reserving teams providing support on a wide range of topics, such as competitor shifts, inflation and claims trends and supply network changes, to quickly identify and act on opportunities or risks to our business model.
  • Present insights and proposals to senior stakeholders, supporting the Group's Claims Forum and Reserving Committee.

What we're looking for:


  • Solid understanding of claims operations, supply chain, insurance claims legislation and market trends
  • Proven track record of leading claims indemnity savings
  • Strong statistical background able to support Reserving in complex analysis, such as triangulated claims settlement analysis
  • Strong communicator and project manager, able to combine expertise and manage stakeholders across a wide range of teams including Claims, Reserving, Pricing and the Exec Committee
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to make sensible commercial decisions based on complex models in a dynamic market.
  • Experience of delivering on largescale projects involving multiple teams, and managing and prioritising multiple priorities and analysts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Desire to challenge the status quo and offer new solutions in a proactive manner.
  • UK Motor knowledge preferred but not essential.
