35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Are you passionate about providing the best possible service? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and motivated Caretaker to join our team to help us ensure that our school provides a safe, welcoming and purposeful environment for children, staff and visitors.

We are looking for a practical and well-motivated person for the post of Caretaker to join our team of committed staff.

Hours of work: 6am - 1pm Monday to Friday and working 1 in 4 Saturday's

The purpose of the role is to keep all grounds tidy and presentable. Conduct various regular cleaning duties and setting up furniture for various events.

You will also assist with the moving of furniture to ensure Monkton staff and pupil accommodation are equipped appropriately each year.

Duties and Responsibilities
General cleaning duties, including but not exclusive to;

Window cleaning
Vacuuming and static mopping on appropriate flooring
Stripping and polishing of floors
Carpet and steam cleaning
Daily / weekly / termly cleaning of areas around the school
Be responsible for all cleaning equipment and materials on the area worked and ensure all cleaning equipment after use is clean and stored in a safe manner
To ensure all cleaning chemicals are kept in locked cupboards
To clean using the approved methods to required standards and to work in a safe manner complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act Portering Duties
Movement of heavy furniture, trunks etc.
Setting up for functions and day to day furniture moves as required
Brushing up around the site and clearing all paths i.e. leaves, snow and ice
Collection of rubbish and waste around the site, including school owned dog waste bins across the site

General Duties

To assist across all sites when required
Covering Saturdays on a rota basis for special functions and eventsReport any maintenance requirements to the Domestic Services Managers
To attend all Health and Safety meetings when necessary
To perform any reasonable request from the Caretaking Supervisor/Domestic Services Manager/Assistant Domestic Service Manager
To cover and assist with any driver and laundry duties when required across sites
