***- Inventory Shift Leader / Manager, X2 based in Derby, 6 month plus contract £neg to start asap

  • Working with one of the region's largest employers who are now embarking on the busiest and most successful periods in their long history. You will help deliver some of the most technically advanced vehicles of their type, all designed developed and manufactured in Derby.
  • As Inventory Shift Manager you will work closely with project(s) managing a team of Expeditor's / Inventory controllers to ensure that the production lines are running efficiently and that materials are delivered, distributed and monitored to meet the needs and demands of the schedule. That quality and shortage issues are managed effectively and in a timely manner, that modifications are accommodated, risks identified and mitigated and that expectations are managed accordingly. Being able to identify improvements, cost savings etc is also core to the role, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the inventory / supply chain function within a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • You will need to have demonstrable experience of working in Inventory Management / Team Leader roles within Engineering and Manufacturing environments for either OEM or first tier suppliers, familiar with lean manufacturing methodologies and able to work effectively managing a team and reporting to seniors / executives within the management team.
  • Working Shifts as production schedules change there will be a need for flexibility.
