Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00


Project Description


The project operates across Swansea and works with priority needs homeless people to provide housing related support within temporary accommodation as a safe alternative to Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

The service provides residential support with the aim of meeting individuals' needs, which promote independence and lead to a sustainable move-on.

The project is funded through the Supporting People Programme Grant and is required to meet the Welsh Government's National Outcomes Framework.


The Framework's four main aims are:

  • Promoting Personal and Community Safety
  • Promoting Independence and Control
  • Promoting Economic Progress and Financial Control
  • Promoting Health and Wellbeing

Purpose of Role
We are looking for a
Senior Cleaner/Caretaker to join our team in Swansea.

You will be part of a mobile team working alongside the cleaner/caretaker as well as undertaking Lone working duties.

You will be responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the 43 properties we manage when they become empty, cleaning them to a high standard in readiness for the next person to move into.

You will also provide a basic maintenance service whilst the properties are both empty and tenanted.


You will be expected to liaise with housing maintenance teams at Swansea Council and Housing Associations to ensure all repairs are reported and completed, as well as organising and arranging for external contractors to complete other essential works.


You will be required to ensure that all works, and safety procedures are followed, and electronic record keeping is accurate and to undertake routine maintenance checks of properties, equipment, and the company vehicle you will be driving.


For this role, you should have a sound knowledge and understanding of cleaning to a high standard, and of basic maintenance.

Excellent quality computer literacy skills is essential for the role and excellent customer service skills, along with the ability to follow procedures and safe working practices.


Please note:
A driving license is required for the role that allows you to drive a transit van.

You will also need access to a vehicle that is covered by business insurance for times when the company vehicle may be off the road.
