A great role has arisen as the Head of Strategy within Commercial & Institutional Banking (CIB) This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Strategy to further develop their career and gain experience at the heart of one of the UK's largest financial services companies.

This role will sit within CIB, working closely with the Group Strategy team, Finance and other partners.


Job Description:

What you'll be doing...

Development and ongoing review of CIB's strategy and high-profile strategic initiatives:

  • Lead the development of the strategy and strategic priorities for Commercial and Institutional Banking, help drive the agenda on strategic delivery across the Division.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and actively manage key strategy projects.
Provide strategic input and support to Group wide processes

  • Delivering high profile strategy engagements to enable development of Group and business unit strategies, supporting CIB and CIB business owners by solving complex business problems to assess and develop options and recommendations aligned to our strategic priorities.
  • Providing thought leadership and proactive project management working with a wide range of partners.

Develop colleagues through mentorship and active collaboration:

  • People management, ability to constructively lead and develop a successful team of strategy professionals within CIB.
  • Actively develop and maintain a wide range of contacts both internally and externally in order to acquire / exchange information, identify and establish best practice and ascertain further customer requirements.
  • Embed the Lloyds Banking Group purpose, values and culture through visible leadership.
What we're looking for...


Key skills:

  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior partners and lead the Strategy team from the front
  • A strong understanding of CIB, it's products, services and markets
  • Strong organisational awareness understanding the Group's overall aims, structures, policies and culture
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, recognising and planning for areas of particular difficulty and uncertainty and ensuring that work is delivered to a high standard
  • Excellent written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Important skills:

  • Strong understanding of the market and business environment in which the Group operates and of industry developments.
  • Team development skills to promote effective working, team performance and colleague development, including planning and coordinating the work and resources, demonstrating flexibility to achieve overall business objectives
  • Comfortable with analytical assessment to develop recommendations and/or instigate solutions to meet ongoing and future business needs
  • Communicates and explains change effectively
  • A detailed understanding of emerging products, services and technologies in financial services
The role is based at 10 Gresham Street, London. We're open to flexible and agile working practices such as job sharing and hybrid working.
