AECOM is currently looking to hire a Consultant Building Services Engineer who will have the opportunity to progress their career within our growing mechanical and electrical Building Surveying Team.

Our UK Building Surveying team deliver building fabric and MEP services as one unit, specialising in multi-disciplinary design services on refurbishment schemes, condition and asset surveys (including and not limited to Lifecycle, Technical Due Diligence, dilapidations and asset management.)


Job Duties:

  • Survey and

Report Writing:

Conduct comprehensive surveys and produce clear, concise engineering reports for a full range of typical core professional Building Surveying services.

Ensure the reports are easily understandable for the intended audience.

  • Construction Monitoring: Assist with construction monitoring and snagging assessments to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Capable of working independently under broad direction, while also supporting team members to meet client demands as needed.
  • Professional Representation: Consistently represent the company in a professional, courteous, and diligent manner. This includes meeting and liaising with clients, understanding their requirements, and ensuring the service provided meets their needs.
  • Client Development: Possess client development skills to cultivate relationships with existing clients and the confidence to win new work.
  • Continuous Improvement: Committed to continuous improvement of our standards, processes, and knowledge to deliver superior service to our core clients.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong written and oral communication skills, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with tabletbased software, such as GoReport, Kyklcoud, and MOBIESS.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills, including ensuring all reports are completed in a timely manner to uphold the company's reputation.

Risk Management:
Proficient in financial, commercial, and risk management from project inception through to completion on own projects.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work away from an office environment and potentially domestically and abroad.
  • Security Clearance: Eligibility for DBS or other security clearance checks is required.

  • Have excellent client facing experience.
  • Be passionate about Building Surveying, developing a team and furthering your career with a leading construction consultancy.
  • Have an open willingness to support M&E and Fabric surveyors and respond to their questions.
  • Be looking for the next step in building surveying leadership.
  • Be a role model to the team, setting high standards and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Experience working within the built environment is preferred. This includes sectors such as commercial, light industrial, and public sector.
  • Educational Qualifications: Relevant further educational qualifications such as HNC, HND, or a Degree are desirable.
  • Role Experience: Previous experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
