Description

• To offer advice to patients on specimen collection and related topics.
• To collect samples of blood ensuring CCL Infection Control and aseptic guidelines are adhered to at all times.
• Ensure that the patient is identified correctly before proceeding, requesting that the patient identifies him/herself with full name, address and DOB, matching these details to that of the request.
• Identify the analytical requirements from the request and take appropriate specimens, ensuring that these are correctly labelled at the time of sampling with the label provided.
• Adopt a friendly and professional manner that promotes confidence in the patient and reduces anxiety to a minimum.
• Paediatric experience would be bonus.
• Romanian language would be bonus

• Phlebotomy Training
• Previous phlebotomy experience.
• Experience of working in a healthcare setting. (independent sector desirable)
• Experience of dealing with sensitive information and patient confidentiality.
• Desirable to be competent in/have had exposure to the use of electronic clinical systems (EPIC, similar modern clinical systems)
