Real Estate Director (Reporting into Indirect Procurement Director)

The Global Director of Real Estate will oversee and be accountable for all Mundipharma's physical office spaces that house around 1000 employees, located across the globe.

Currently a portfolio worth $12.7m, will be seeking to reduce rentals and associated costs to meet ongoing targets. This position will play a key role in executing strategic planning for the future 'global footprint' of Mundipharma.

The role will be accountable for the delivery of real estate administration, real estate sales or purchasing, and transaction management.

Role and responsibilities

  • Execute strategies to assess and reduce Mundipharma's Global estate footprint, through reviewing data and analytics surrounding current costs, headcount, leasing details, square footage to ensure our real estate plans fit our global business strategy.
  • Portfolio Planning responsible for ensuring that the Global Real Estate and Facilities Management groups' strategic vision aligns with business goals.
  • You'll develop and maintain the real estate portfolio benchmarking, evaluation process, and optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate working cross functionally with multiple functions to engage and understand the real estate future needs, ensuring plans are developed and implemented.
  • Align office space and staff deployment with business needs.
  • Oversee mid and largescale Global relocation projects.
  • In collaboration with Finance, develop, establish, and coordinate 'Requests for Proposals' on our major categories of spend associated with estate.
  • Invites key/core suppliers to provide solutions and cost proposals for our business requirements, evaluates proposals, makes supplier recommendations, selects suppliers, awards business, and handles contracts for key stakeholders.
  • Leverages and negotiates pricing on combined volumes of purchases at various locations with industry leading suppliers to reduce the cost of goods and overheads.
  • Prioritise savings opportunities and take a unified approach with our various purchasing locations to meet with the potential suppliers and get the lowest possible total cost; concentration on cost savings.
  • Through a crossfunctional and collaborative team approach drive the Category Management process for both global and site level Capital & Real Estate initiatives.
  • Invite key/core suppliers to provide solutions and cost proposals for our business requirements, evaluate proposals, make supplier recommendations, selects suppliers, awards business, and handles contracts for key stakeholders. Continually seeks to improve systems and work environments to meet the ongoing changes of the company.
What you'll bring

  • Proven extensive experience in managing a global portfolio
  • Experience in corporate real estate project management involving industrial and office assets.
  • Experience with M&A is an asset
  • Experience of working in a Global matrix led business with multiple markets. Experience with emerging markets is desirable
  • Experience of successfully working with third parties.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing tactical execution while maintaining a strategic focus.
  • Proven business and financial acumen.
