Finance Manager | East Nottingham | £40,000 - £45,000
Macildowie are currently working with a market leading
, growing business based in
Nottinghamshire. They are now seeking a high calibre
Finance Managerwith a strong operational accounting background to join their team.


This business is stable, has been established for 20 + years and see's very little turnover of people in general. The role will support the Finance Director preparing and analysing financial information for multiple business purposes and be responsiblefor the efficient and accurate presentation of financial records and management information.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance team based at the manufacturing facility in Nottingham, overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, stock control, financial accounting and reporting and working collaboratively withthe wider business to drive process improvement and support the growth ambitions of the site.

So what is the role?

Accounting:


  • Oversee routine daily accounting processes
  • Manage the prompt and accurate closing of accounts each period
  • Ensure monthly reconciliations are performed on Balance Sheet accounts and reconciliation items are reviewed and cleared

Reporting:


  • Provide accurate reporting information to the Division and Group, adhering to deadlines
  • Ensure completion of all tax returns, including VAT and Intrastat
  • Complete year end accounting and corporation tax packages, and be the first point of contact for external auditors

Forecasting & budgeting:


  • Prepare the weekly & quarterly cash & EBITA forecasting information for the UK business
  • Oversee and take responsibility for ensuring the annual budget cycle is robust
  • Monitor and forecast cash utilisation and requirements

Control environment:


  • Monitor and maintain a robust financial systems and processes environment
  • Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place, and are operating, to comply with Sarbanes Oxley and be the first point of contact with the internal audit team

Business development & partnering:


  • Provide information to management and other departments, to support sound financial decision making
  • Understand regulation, legislation and industry developments and how they will impact the business
  • Identify efficiencies and opportunities to reduce company costs
  • Monitor and review spending against budget, liaising with individual departments
  • Managing, mentoring and motivating the finance team (4 direct reports)

So who are you?

  • You will be fully
    qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and have experience in the Manufacturing or Supply Chain industries
  • You'll be used to working in a
    fast paced business and you will thrive on making decisions, improvements to both processes and team capabilities. Experience of developing and delivering through a finance team is essential
  • You'll love taking the initiative and at times, being autonomous.
    You'll be solutions focused and see opportunity rather than issues
  • Experience of working through
    difficult situations and improving business capability:
  • Practical,
    very hands on experience of managing financial controls of a
    £multi-million business:
  • Able to influence and deliver positive change in the organisation
