Company Overview
Our client is a well established, well respected engineering consultancy.

They have provided engineering consultancy design services for over 20 year and work with a variety of long standing clients such as Power Distribution System Operators, Power TransmissionSystem Operators, Powers Generator Companies which includes a mixture of onshore and offshore wind, nuclear power, traditional power generation, large industrial sites and rail.

The company is owned entirely by its employees and is now seeking to invest further into its Earth/Grounding Consultancy Team by hiring a Principal Engineer or Associate Director to help develop the teams and grow the business.

The Role

Main purpose of the role:

The delivery of various projects including but not limited to HV earthing, Lighting protection risk assessment and design studies.
Represent the company on site and in meetings, demonstrating good technical knowledge and experience of CDEGS modelling
Deputise for the Managing Director in his absence
Manage,develop and grow the current team

Requirements:

You will have a minimum 10 years post graduate HV Earthing/Lightning, protection design experience and ideally chartered membership of IET or working towards chartership.

Excellent knowledge of specifications & legislation and the technical standards
Knowledge of lightning protection standards, design and risk assessment
Working knowledge of CDEGS and its modules MALZ, HIFREQ, SPLITS, RESAP, FCDIST
Good site experience and understanding of HV substation, cable and OHL equipment
Able to put together tenders for large, multisite projects
Able to undertake site visits as required
Hold a valid Driving License able to drive in the UK
