Description

The Respite Rooms supports single women experiencing homelessness, violence against women and girls (VAWG) and multiple disadvantage, by providing safe and secure temporary accommodation. We support 8 women across 2 properties in the BCP area, offering guidance and support to begin their journey to recovery from abuse and violence.

  • The service began as a governmentfunded pilot for 18months, delivered by BCHA in collaboration with BCP Council, to tackle female homelessness in the BCP area. Further funding has allowed the Respite Rooms to continue within BCHA's domestic abuse accommodation offering on a permanent basis._
  • The pilot project supported 48 women experiencing homelessness, VAWG and multiple disadvantage, with a high positive moveon rate of 81% into further accommodation._
