One of the UK's most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations is looking for an Employment Advisor to join our Employment Services Team.

Within the Salvation Army, Employment Advisor's are known as Employment Development Coordinators.

The Salvation Army's Employment Plus service offers tailored support to help people become job-ready. Our aim is to help job seekers to get a job and stay in work.

As an EDC you will help individuals from the most deprived communities within the area in identifying, developing, securing and sustaining appropriate work opportunities, whilst also delivering high quality employability advice and guidance.


As the post holder you will be responsible for managing your own caseload to ensure a high quality service is delivered to all.

In addition to this you will develop and maintain close working partnerships both internally with Homelessness Services, Community Services and our church community leaders, and also externally with The DWP and other partners.


  • Working knowledge of the Employability Sector
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also to work alone and under pressure
  • Working to targets
  • Ability to follow process and be accurate with paperwork
  • Great communication and IT skills
