Database Administrator at MRM Global:
MRM Global is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our Engineering department.
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's databases to ensure their reliability and performance.
- Design, implement, and maintain databases
- Monitor database performance and optimize for maximum efficiency
- Ensure data security and integrity
- Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate data from various sources
- Installing, configuring, maintaining both MSSQL and Postgres databases.
- Manage the backup, testing and recovery of the database periodically
- Liase with the architecture group to define and implement a database scaling strategy
- Liase with the architecture group to define and implement a wider storage strategy encompassing, file, NOSQL and SQL storage
- Ensure maximium uptime of databases both SQL and NoSQL
- Maintain security and patches across both SQL, NoSQL and File Storage
- Work with the development teams to optimize the data storage layer
- Mentor and advise developers on tuning and performance improvements
- Work with architecture group and existing partners to create and implement a data strategy
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our team of knowledgeable Software Engineers, Testers, and Product Team in creating innovative software solutions.
What you will bring;
- 4+ years' experience of database administration in a webbased environment
- Experience in the Microsoft tech stack
- Knowledge querying, optimizing SQL Server and Postgres
- Knowledge of latest database techniques such as versioning, deploying, on demand etc in cloud environments
- Knowledge of Entity Framework
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, testers, architects and the Product Team
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problemsolving abilities
- Desire to continue to grow professional capabilities with ongoing training and educational opportunities
Not essential, it would be a bonus if you have;
