ALUMINIUM TiG WELDER/FABRICATOR (Permanent/Full-time)

Job Overview:


A fantastic opportunity to work for a well-established, highly regarded company based in the Whiteinch area of Glasgow, with a history of supplying roof & cladding materials to the building/construction trades.

Armstrong specialise in Aluminium & Sheet metal facades with over 30 years' experience and have a reputation for efficiency, precision and 1st class customer service.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform aluminium TiG welding on various components and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Fabricate aluminium parts and assemblies using cutting, bending, and shaping techniques with a keen eye for detail.
  • Interpret technical drawings to determine welding requirements and fabrication procedures.
  • Prepare aluminium materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components as necessary.
  • Inspect welded joints and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues. Understand the importance of cleanliness of work
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including work logs, inspection reports, and material requisitions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision following the initial training period.

Requirements:

Proficient in TiG welding of aluminium materials, focusing on accuracy and precision. Good fabrication skills, including cutting, bending, and shaping aluminium components.

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the quality and accuracy of welded joints and fabricated parts. Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills (a can-do attitude), with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Welding certifications or qualifications preferred, but not required.


Benefits:


Pay:
£14.00 to £16.00 per hour, dependent on experience (initial 3 month probation period)

Hours: 8am pm (Monday - Friday) (1/2 hour lunch)

Death in Service Benefit

20 days Holiday + statutory bank Holidays (approx. 28 days total)
