Description

12 Month Fixed Term Contract / Secondment
The Council is committed to supporting and enabling our employees to develop and progress their careers in Hackney.

We have recently joined our Corporate and Education HR Services together and appointed Sandra Farquharson, FCIPD, as the Director of HR and Organisational Development and we are now recruiting to this exciting new role.

You will be joining us at the London Borough of Hackney, as we reshape our HR services and redesign how we all work together in the future.

There are challenging, but exciting times ahead and as a member of our HR and OD Leadership Team, you will play a key role in the collaborative and distributed leadership of the HR and OD Service.

This is a strategic role where you will lead a strong collaborative team; delivering all aspects of strategic workforce planning, effective succession planning, learning, talent development and performance management, embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion in our policies, ensuring an inclusion culture is represented in the way we work together and supporting all our colleagues to thrive and build great careers with us at Hackney.

You will find that we are a vibrant and welcoming council that has a strong commitment to inclusion. We have an anti-racist agenda and committed to tackling inequalities for both our residents and our colleagues.

At the core of all our activities will be the responsibility to lead, develop and embed diversity and inclusion as part of Hackney's commitment.

You will have responsibility to lead, develop and embed diversity and inclusion and ensure that this is at the forefront of all OD strategies and plans.

Therefore, it is important that you can demonstrate your understanding of barriers to inclusion, such as structural racism, the factors that contribute to it, and your experience in delivering to the equality diversity and inclusion agenda and be able to demonstrate putting theory into practice.

We are seeking an experienced specialist who can demonstrate success in leading in the areas on our agenda, as well as building a strong and motivated team.

You will have developed and delivered innovative solutions, whilst working across a wide and diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, Members, employees, and trade union representatives.

A degree or studies related to occupational psychology is desirable, as well as being CIPD qualified, however, not essential. You will have significant equivalent experience of organisational development, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and distributed leadership.

The recruitment process is anonymous.

Week commencing 20 March 2023
