Blackpool Councilon a permanent contract.


What is the role?


Blackpool Council are now looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to lead the operational delivery of Library Services across Blackpool's library network.


In this role you will have responsibility for the management and support of a team of Library Managers overseeing the day to day operation of libraries across the Blackpool area.


You will also manage the cross service administrative and financial functions and support the Head of Libraries in planning of resources needs, staff allocation, building maintenance, and ICT functions.


How will you do this?

  • Provide leadership to a team of Library Managers and a Business Support Assistant, ensuring efficient rota of Library staffing on a daytoday basis.
  • In partnership with finance teams, monitor budgets and spending with focus on the acquisition of library stock and digital resources.
  • Take responsibility for financial administration, including purchase ordering, issuing and processing of invoices, and recording of financial data.
  • Drive continuous improvement through development projects and improvement in customer experience.

What experience do you need?

  • Substantial management and leadership experience and ability to deliver improvements in service delivery and customer care.
  • Ideally hold a background in library administration with experience of staff development and confidence leading change management initiatives.
