Description
Essential qualifications:
- A PhD or MS in Phycology/Microbiology/Synthetic Biology or similar areas and/or considerable experience working in the area of molecular microbiology or phycology.
- Published peer review work in above mentioned scientific areas.
- Ability to think innovatively and develop novel strategies to alter desired traits in algae via targeted genetic manipulations.
- Ensure transformation and phenotyping of strains are conducted in a timely and organised manner, and meticulous records of clones and strains are maintained.
- Responsible for day-to-day co-ordination of your lab activities with other lab members such as planning, execution and analysis of experiments.
- Ability to communicate and work with others team members like engineers, management etc. in developing innovative and cost-effective methods in upstream and downstream processes.
Desired skills:
- Experience working with CRISPR is desirable but not essential.
- Experience of working in industry and/or with industry-led projects.
- Cultivation of microalgae at lab and pilot scales.
- Experience guiding interns or other graduate students.
