Description
Job Role will be full time and permanent, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Job location will be in our office in Alfreton, Derbyshire.


JOB DESCRIPTION


You will be responsible for the purchasing of spares and other products that are essential for the day to day running of the company.

You will be expected to review and compare pricing of the products we buy to try to find alternative suppliers with cost savings to the company without sacrificing the quality of the products we use.

Your responsibility will be to make sure we have optimal stock levels for both to full fill our customers' spares orders as well as our own service and repair jobs.


DUTIES INCLUDE:


  • Monitoring stock levels and placing stock orders when required in a timely manner
  • Being responsible for the complete purchasing process from enquiry to order to purchase invoice, which includes order and purchase invoice entry and keeping our internal computer system up to date with regards to part creation, pricing, suppliers, order levels etc
  • Tracking orders, chasing updates, making sure of timely delivery
  • Reviewing current suppliers as well as researching new ones
  • Reviewing pricing and quality of products from different suppliers
  • Negotiating better pricing/discounts
  • Reporting on purchases, stock value, stock movements etc
  • Coordinating with the stores with regards to part requirements
  • Coordinating with shipping companies to do with shipments both within UK and from Europe
  • Coordinating with shipping companies to do with exporting/importing

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must have experience in purchasing
  • A qualification in purchasing/business/ business admin would be expected
  • Must have an understanding of complete purchasing process
  • Must have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Must create and maintain good relationships with suppliers
  • Must have excellent computer skills and experience of purchasing software
  • Background or knowledge of engineering products would be desired
  • Must have strong analytical skills, able to do cost analysis and able to priotise
