Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.


Enterprise Technology (ET), within the HSBC Technology organisation, comprises 6,000 colleagues in globally distributed teams, who are dedicated to the provision and operation of technology solutions to Group Functions, allowing our business colleagues to support our Global Businesses.


Within ET; Finance, Regulatory Reporting and Cross Functions (FinEX) IT is a key, mission orientated department of 2,000 staff focused on designing, building and operating key platforms in support of the Global Risk & Compliance and Global Finance Functions.


FinEX IT aims to support the Finance Function whilst also driving engineering best practice and the sharing of data and modelling capabilities across the functions.


Role Description:


FinEX IT is looking for a highly motivated individual to undertake a Senior IT Lead role within the Foundations Technology team, principally to define and implement an Environment Strategy for FinEx Cloud platforms, which is aligned with group standards, IT and business strategy, meets business objectives and satisfies all relevant regulatory and operational risk controls.

The role is also responsible for ongoing management of the FinEX Cloud Environments ensuring that they are cost effective and compliant with the strategy and policies.


Responsibilities:


  • Be able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders. Strong communications skills, influencing and negotiation.
  • Experience of working with complex stakeholders in a global setting.
  • Be able to define an Environment strategy for production, development and test environments across all value streams
  • Proven record of defining and implementing cloud environment strategies
  • Sets standards and shares best practice for Environment management across all FinEx IT teams adopting cloud
  • Be able to lead a team of technologists, ensuring prioritization of tasks and supporting removal of blockers.
  • Be able to understand complex business requirements, new cloud technologies and understand how to influence teams to adopt new practice and embrace automation.
  • Manage Compliance and controls address risks and Cloud services identified compliance violations
  • Work alongside Cloud Services FinOps team to drive optimisation recommendations
  • Monitor the platform level risks and controls, putting in place adequate mitigation and liaising with 2LOD on any platform risks.

Essential Skillset/Experience:


  • Must have experience working in GCP Environment (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Defining Cloud Environment Management strategies
  • Managing Cloud Environments serving multiple tenants
  • Management of risks and issues
  • Embedding new strategies and processes into existing teams
  • Cloud technologies and concepts
  • Optimization techniques
  • Production Support experience
  • Finance and Risk systems and language
  • Data processing and analytics systems

The role will be based in Sheffield but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working (2-3 days in the office per week)
