We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Protein Purification Team as a Research Scientist with a primary responsibility to engineer, express and purify enzymes for our disruptive nanopore sequencing technology.

What we're looking for...

You will have:

  • A good working knowledge of recombinant protein expression, purification and subsequent characterisation
  • Hands on experience in working with AKTA systems and ability to troubleshoot expression and purification issues is helpful, particularly in relation to nucleic acid binding proteins
  • Experience of liquid handing robots is desired but not essential
  • Working knowledge of Python is desired but not essential
  • A knowledge of working with membrane proteins would be helpful but not vital
  • We are looking for applicants who can adapt quickly to new challenges and enjoy working with an agile approach to research

You'll be used to working meticulously and to a high standard, as well as being able to perform well under pressure.

You'll be used to meeting deadlines in a complex and fast paced environment.
