Description

Senior Policy and Parliamentary Officer
London, SE1 (with hybrid working)

About Us

Local Trust was established in 2012 to deliver Big Local, a National Lottery Community Fund programme which committed £1million each to 150 areas across England.

We believe there is a need to put more power, resources, and decision making into the hands of communities. We do this by trusting local people.

The Big Local programme demonstrates the value of long-term, unconditional, resident-led funding through supporting local communities to make their areas better places to live.

We commit our funds at the outset, and then support local residents to develop their own plans to spend the funding in ways that they collectively agree will improve their local area and the lives of those living there.

We draw on the learning from our work to promote a wider transformation in the way policy-makers, funders and others engage with communities and places.

We are now looking for a Senior Policy and Parliamentary Officer to join us on a full-time basis for a two year fixed term contract.

The Benefits

  • Salary of £42,000 per annum
  • 25 days' annual leave, plus public holidays and a threeday office closure between Christmas and New Year
  • Pension scheme
  • Interestfree season ticket loans
  • Cycletowork scheme
  • Excellent development opportunities
  • Two days off per annum for volunteering
If you're an influential individual with experience in policy and parliamentary affairs, this is the perfect opportunity to get onboard and help us transform communities

Your support will be vital in ensuring the Big Local programme makes maximum impact, enabling us to create more transformative change and continue to make the world a better place, one community at a time.

So, if you're ready to make your next career move, we would love to hear from you

Additionally, you will:

  • Lead our political advocacy work
  • Develop our influencing strategy
  • Build and manage relationships with MPs, Peers, Ministers and stakeholders
  • Work with MPs and their offices to table debates and motions
  • Scope and recruit members for a new All-Party Parliamentary Group

About You
