Barnardo's work in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council to deliver its Leaving Care Service for young people aged We support, encourage, and empower care experienced young people to live independent lives.

Lincolnshire County Council have been inspected by Ofsted and have achieved an 'Outstanding' grade for the service we provide.

Due to the increase of numbers of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking young people arriving in the UK, we are looking to recruit a Leaving Care worker (Personal Advisor) to work in our Peterborough and/ or Sleaford office.

There are three other offices within Lincolnshirewith options to work from any of them when required, however the office base with this position is Peterborough.

Knowledge of the risks worries and safeguarding concerns when working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking young people is essential.

Initial Specific Responsibilities
To carry out pathway plans, statutory visits and risk assessments for Lincolnshire care experienced young people.

Within Lincolnshire the Signs of Safety model is used across County as an assessment tool.

Offer support and guidance with accommodation, health, EET, finances and independent skills.

Supplementary Information

Experience of working with Children in Care and Care experienced young people is essential.
Continued professional development and a desire to learn is essential.
Experience of working with the Signs of Safety programme is desirable.
The LCW/ PA (Leaving Care worker/ Personal Advisor) has a statutory responsibility to provide advice and support and to participate in a care leaver's assessment, attend the young person's statutory reviews (under 18) and preparation of the Pathway Plan.
The LCW can also work in partnership to provide information, advice and guidance on:
Appropriate accommodation
Helping the care leaver to acquire independent living skills.

Health issues
Helping care leavers to positively engage with services and participate in life in general according to their own wishes.
