About LPC

The London Policing College, established in 2011, is a world-class police education institution where practitioners and academics from across the globe come to learn and develop policing services.

We are a centre of excellence for police education providing:

  • The highest quality police education for student police officers,
  • World class degree and masters programmes combining practical experience with academic excellence,
  • An international hub for police research, collaboration, and learning,
  • Consultancy to police, policing, and community safety organisations
We are passionate about policing and those who work in it.

Our values are based on promoting:

  • Professional police skills and experience using science to evaluate and develop best practice.
  • Diversity and Inclusion driving our teams and our services.
  • Doing the right thing acting with integrity and honesty.
  • Human rights promoting through our organisation, our decisions, and our work.
  • Sustainability working with communities and minimising our impact on the environment.

Our aim is to support the police in its mission to make individuals and communities safer and to make an effective contribution to help shape policing in the future.

We deliver policing education programmes based on our wide police experience, the latest evidence from academic research and evaluation of what works.

We operate internationally, where our programmes are founded on the principles of Sir Robert Peel's community-lead policing model and underpinned by our commitment to Human Rights, Ethical policing practice and Diversity and Inclusion.

We combine the best of academic research and theory with policing operational expertise, so our clients benefit from programmes based on 'real life' policing, delivered by experts with the relevant experience.

In the UK, we deliver both Bachelors and Masters policing degree programmes through our partnership with the University of West London (UWL).

We are also proud to support UWL in its delivery of the Metropolitan Police Service's "Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships" and their
"Degree Holders Entry Programmes".

Additionally, we offer a range of personal development programmes aimed at officers and staff of all ranks and at all levels, to assist them in their careers.

These programmes range from 'best practice' through to preparation for selection
