Job Description:

Purpose of the Role

This role sits within P&T (Operations), as part of the wider Corporate Group at Ofcom.


The benefits associate will help to provide a high-quality benefits provision to Ofcom colleagues in order to deliver our people and organisational strategy.

Responsible for administering all aspects of the employee benefits provision.


Working closely with:

  • The Wellbeing & Benefits Manager, who will provide day to day management support
  • The Reward team, who are responsible for setting strategic reward design, job family structure and pay strategy;
  • The Operations and Payroll teams, who support colleagues with general and systems queries; and
  • External benefit and wellbeing Partners (eg insurance brokers, private medical insurance, pensions)
  • The Benefits platform provider
  • The Internal Communications team
As part of the People & Transformation Operations team, be a key part of providing a high-quality customer service and colleague experience


Key responsibilities- Responsible for the day-to-day administration of all employee benefits- Work closely with Wellbeing & Benefits Manager with the annual colleague benefits selection- Support with the planning, execution and communication of annual benefit events- Administration of the employee recognition scheme- Support Wellbeing & Benefits Manager with the management of benefit suppliers, including contract renewals- Supplier liaison in relation to projects and queries- Work closely with People Systems team on systems, employee data and onboarding queries- Develop process maps for benefits administration, designing and amending as necessary and ensuring they are always up to-date and available.- Ensuring information about benefits is kept up to date on the Intranet, working with the Internal Communications team where necessary to disseminate information.- Update scheme design documentation, ensuring Benefits guides (for internal and external use) are accurate and up to date.- Provide reports, data, and performance updates as required.- Support related committees by taking notes and providing supporting discussion information and insights into queries, scheme changes and usage.- From time to time, support colleagues working on overlapping provisions including well-being and reward strategy implementation.

Skills, Knowledge and experience- Relationship development and collaboration skills: the ability to collaborate and build relationships effectively, both internally and externally.

- Planning, organisation and project management skills: the ability to manage day to day case load as well as manage multiple workstreams

  • Strong communication skills:

ability to draft content/communication material and explain benefits clearly when answering colleague queries.- Strong understanding of the administration of employee benefits- Strong systems capability, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt.

Experience of Workday and ServiceNow an advantage- Attitude of continuous improvement, supportive and welcoming of change- Drive for high quality delivery- Understanding of payroll, tax and National Insurance where it relates to benefits- Excel skills at intermediate level- CIPD membership advantageous although not required- REBA membership advantageous although not required
