JOB PURPOSE To work within the Professional Development and Education Unit (PDEU), in accordance with the team and wider Trust values.

This role will support and facilitate the non-medical workforce in clinical and non-clinical areas to identify learning and development opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care through education and career development opportunities.

Provide education and training to multidisciplinary team staff and assist in the delivery of training programmes for Trainee Nursing Associates, Nursing Associates, Student Nurses, Registered Nurses and other non-registered workforce to induct and develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.

The post holder will support and facilitate staff in clinical areas to identify opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care.

This will include working alongide any learner within the clinical environment to achieve competence and confidence


Key requirements include:
To support the PDEU in facilitating and delivering induction and training programmes for Registered and Non-Registered staff.

Providing in situ clinical support to appropriate staff groups to assist in achieving competencies and developing confidence in their roles.

Provide Pastoral support to registered and non-registered learners to ensure wellbeing is supported.

To be accountable for a group of learners within the Practice Educators allocated areas. Be accountable for the delegated responsibility for specific workstreams. Provide consitant contributions to the teams development projects and workstreams. Professional Maintain a professional appearance in line with the Trust dress code and Infection control policy.

As part of your employment with the trust, you are bound by the policies and procedures within the organisation and wider NHS.

Cover the duties of colleagues in posts of the same pay band or lower and within the range of the post holders knowledge and skills ensuring patients and staff are at the centre of every decision.

Evidence improved reflective practice via professional supervision systems.

Key Responsibilities Understanding your role Support the Lead Clinical Educators to ensure there are effective systems/framework/activities in place to secure sustainable developments in education and practice.

To plan and maximise opportunities to deliver work-based learning for non-medical registered and non-registered workforce. Support the monitoring, recording and reporting of all learner activity.

Maintain clinical competence in all aspects of learner needs, to be able to supervise and sign of competence. Be an innovative and creative practitioner to effectively use resources and technologies in our education programmes. Work with minimum supervision and coordinate own and other staffs activities to ensure that efficient service is provided. Provide guidance and support to staff on personal and professional development, by promoting CPD and career oprotunities.

Communication Communicate education and practice information across the Trust. Ensure communication channels are used appropriately to facilitate the flow of information.

Help to share best practice relating to quality assurance and inter professional learning Demonstrate effective and efficient delivery of information.

Be able to motivate others.

Service Improvement Inspire others to recognise the value of education which underpins and takes practice forward. Work in collaboration with clinical managers and senior nurses to support specific learner needs within the clinical environment.

Supporting the PDEU team to help ensure a high-quality training programme is maintained, that learning outcomes can be met, and are aligned with service demands.

Support and engage in other service improvement objectives to aid success.

Manage the process of identifying areas of good practice, areas for improvement and improving standards of care. Including facilitating and promoting the sharing of good practice via clinical practice forums and other trust-wide and national forums.

Teaching and Learning Deliver education and training programmes to ensure that knowledge, skills and competencies of the professional and support staff meet the need of the service.
