The FCO ensures that Deutsche Bank systems are used within the legal and regulatory AML framework for the UK, and to escalate issues of concern to AFC Management in a timely manner.


In this role, you will provide strategic direction and leadership across teams responsible for Transaction Monitoring (TM) alert management and resulting investigations.

You will provide oversight and approval of Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) to be filed with the UK authorities and accountable for mitigating the risk of regulatory breach, and any loss to the reputation of the Bank because of its failure to comply with AML and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) laws, regulations, and guidelines.

You will ensure high quality investigations, codes of conduct and standards of good practice.

Your key responsibilities

  • Undertake the role of the Nominated Officer for Deutsche Bank United UK
  • Provide the strategic oversight and direction of FCO, ensuring global standards are implemented in the United Kingdom & Ireland region
  • Ensuring the function remains fit for purpose, is adequately staffed, and trained, quality is maintained and ensuring alert management is completed within service level agreements and SARs filed in a timely manner
  • Ensuring regular collaboration and feedback loops with stakeholders to and participate in the development of new (AML/CTF) rules and controls to enable the delivery of sound Financial Crime investigations
  • Providing the Regional Head of AFC and Global Head of FCO with periodic and adhoc, consolidated reporting

Your skills and experience

  • Considerable experience in either an AML/CTF role; legal, law enforcement, compliance, or regulatory background, preferably within the financial services industry
  • In depth knowledge of TM and case management systems and working knowledge of corporate fraud prevention, detection, and investigation
  • A strong background in a FCO operations with a broad knowledge of AML/CTF investigations
  • Knowledge of Wealth, Markets, Trade Finance, Corporate Finance, Asset Management, Correspondent Banking products (beneficial)
