An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Endoscopy Quality Coordinator to provide support for the provision of an efficient and safe decontamination of endoscopes at Prince Philip Hospital.


The HSDU Quality Co-ordinator must ensure that the decontamination of medical devicesare carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, Welsh Health Technical Memorandum 0101, whilst ensuring the documentation requirements of ISO 13485 Quality Management System is maintained.


Working hours will be dictated by the needs of the service and therefore applicants should have a flexible working approach to maintain service needs and requirements.


The post holder will liaise daily with the Theatre, Day theatres, Wards and Departments to ensure their operational needs are addressed.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Sterile Services department, which includes:

All aspects of the delivery of the decontamination and maintenance service for medical devices and other related equipment within the Sterile services department.

The supervision of decontamination technicians.


The assessment and delivery of initial and ongoing training for Decontamination Technicians in the effective and safe decontamination and sterilisation of medical devicesand associated accessories.

All aspects of quality management of the decontamination unit ensuring compliance to ISO 13485.

Undertaking regular audits and providing reports of findings.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.

  • Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales
