Your new teamThis position sits in our Chivas Brothers business.
At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered.
The Spirit Supply team are the link between our three bottling halls and our Bulk Operations team.
Based at our site in Dumbarton the team manage our vatting processes to ensure delivery of product to the bottling halls as required.
Your unique contribution
The role of the Spirit Supply Operations Planner is to plan, co-ordinate and report on all spirit movements across the bottling halls and operations, and for external customer requirements.
You will have four main areas of responsibility:
- Planning & Scheduling
- you will be responsible for converting bottling demand into operational requirements and ensuring Vat capacity is managed daily to ensure bottling demand is met. You will monitor Drain & Fill operations to coincide with bottling requirements and provide Operations and Transport departments with short-term operational plans and activity schedules. You will also determine workforce requirements to enable plans to be achieved. You will assist in the preparation of medium to long-term scenarios.
- Decision Making to determine operational process sequence to meet customer demand and provide information on potential issues to management to ensure an initiativetaking approach can be agreed. You will also be responsible for prioritising plans to meet Customer Service.
- Collaboration to collaborate with both Vatting Process Leaders and Bottling Hall Managers to ensure spirit is delivered On Time in Full. You will also collaborate with local management and direct daily production planning and review meetings.
- New Products and Improvements to ensure new product processing requirements are obtained from Spirit Quality and processed accordingly. You will facilitate the process of corrective action and continuous improvement within group operations and support and coordinate in the delivery of ongoing continuous improvement projects as well as identifying opportunities to improve where possible.
Internally, you will collaborate with Vatting Process Leaders and Bottling Hall Managers as well as management across Manufacturing and Operations.
Externally, you will collaborate with suppliers.

- Have previous experience in the planning and co-ordination of operations and manufacturing activities within the FMCG or similar industry.
- Have excellent working knowledge of computerised stock systems, processes, and compliance.
- Can analyse data and take responsibility for changes to production plans and schedules.
- Can work autonomously, managing your own priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Can persuade others and influence change at all levels.
