Description

As part of the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Team, the post holder will work closely with the Specialist Nurses and be responsible for maintaining the Neonatal database, including receipt and processing of results from Central Middlesex.


Duties will include responsibility for movement in and out of results for affected babies, trait status, transfused babies and inconclusive results.

The post holder must ensure data is correctly maintained to a required quality standard. The post holder will be expected to build and maintain working relationships amongst clinical and non clinical staff in neighbouring Centres, Acute hospital laboratories and other services across City &
Hackney.

  • To support the Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Team in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Screening Programme Standard
  • To maintain the database in accordance with the requirements set out by the Screening Programme.
  • To liaise with relevant personnel including Child Health, Laboratory staff, Health Visitors, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Haematologists to ensure an accurate flow of information is maintained.
  • To support the Team and Service by complying with the National Screening recommendations
