Salary:

Up to 45k dependent on experience plus bonus and benefits

Hybrid working pattern:

Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working
- ideally 2-3 days on site.

The Opportunity:
MBDA UK is looking to recruit a Project Accountant within its Future Systems mission area.

You will have a background working within a long-term contracting business (defence experience preferable, but not essential) and experience of financial performance analysis of contract delivery from inception to closure.

This role provides excellent exposure to developments within MBDA's capability portfolio, with Future Systems providing credible concepts and assessment of their viability.

There is also exposure to finance control within our Engineering directorate in growyour understanding of how resource is allocated and costed into projects.

What we're looking for:

Accounting Qualification**:

AAT or equivalent
ACCA/CIMA/ACCA part qualified considered
Ability to integrate, influence and support within multi discipline business teams

Knowledge/Understanding around:

IFRS1
Estimates at completion (i.e. long term contract finance)
Multi Year strategic planning for key metrics (Orders, Revenue, Margin & Cash)
Experience of management accounting desirable, but not essential:
Monthly performance reporting, including trends, commentary and recommendations
Holder of, or able to achieve, SC level clearance

The Role:

Acting as the primary finance point of contract for financial aspects of contracts encompassing:
Revenue and Margin recognition
Customer Reporting, Invoicing, Cashflow and FX deals
Balance sheet control; e.g. WIP
Capture and management of risks & opportunities and how these can influence performance
Influencing financial control around functional cost base for UK Engineering of approx. ~1600 headcount, split across 6 divisions by;
Monthly performance reporting around financial and nonfinancial metrics and ensuring cost control and financial policy is followed through judgement and pragmatism
Some travel is required to our Stevenage and European sites in order to develop, nurture and sustain professional relationships.
