A position has arisen for a
Head of Care and Health within a prestigious local authority in the
South West to join the Senior Leadership Team and work closely with the Interim (Registered) Manager and Head of Education to maintain the positive progress a children's homes have made since a disappointing Ofsted Inspection earlier this year.


This is a central role in supervising and supporting the frontline managers, chairing operational meetings, leading on practice and policy reviews.

In addition to maintaining links with partner agencies e.g., health and wellbeing colleagues. Youth Custody Service, and Ofsted.

Duration: 4 months initially


Rate:
£565 per day Umbrella

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review systems designed for monitoring progress and reviewing outcomes for young people
  • Ensure compliance with the Unit's operational procedures to ensure the health and safety of all persons young people, staff, volunteers, visitors within the secure unit
  • Ensure through regular supervision, training, team meetings, personal staff development etc. that a high standard of service delivery is maintained at all times, especially in relation to the management of casework;
  • Responsible for the oversight of case management and supervision of sentence/risk management for all the young people in the Unit
  • Ensure the range of statutory child care meetings where complex issues including the taking away of liberty and decisions are carefully weighed to manage the work of the team, ensuring workloads and statutory requirements are met with regards to staff levels

Essential Experience:


  • Have substantial managerial experience organising and coordinating business support services
  • Experience of producing long term plans which satisfy business objectives
  • Previous experience of work in a secure Children's home or other secure care environment would be an advantage
