The role of Lead Environmental Inspector is to lead and actively contribute to the delivery of environmental compliance services which are geared to making food service establishments (FSE) that discharge wastewater to the public sewerage network compliant to legal requirements.

The role encompasses mentoring, training, and coaching Environmental Inspectors whilst supporting with the successful delivery of the compliance service.

Extensive knowledge and experience of the IMS, it's related SOPS and procedures is required as is full understanding of our KPI's and Performance targets.

This role is ideal for someone who is hard working and will lead others by example.

The role will cover the United Utilities region.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Support the management and full investigation of Food Service Establishments (FSEs) and where necessary cooperate with the client and Operations Manager aiming to eliminate the recurrence of blockages, pollutions and floodings within your designated catchment area.

Lead and support a team of field based Environmental Insepctors.

Engage with client stakeholders to encourage the inflow of investigation requests and proactively work towards achieving targets for each designated geographical area at a geographical/catchment level

Support the education and training of FSE's to get them compliant to legal requirements.

Proactively seek to enhance the customer experience in all engagement activities, taking the lead to resolving all customer service issues, including engagement with suppliers on the FSE's and the Environmental Inspectors behalf.


Take the lead to support where necessary with inspections to approve the installation of correctly sized grease trapping equipment and training of FSE staff on grease management practices.


Take the lead to support where necessary with monitoring inspections for compliant FSE's to ensure best practices are maintained and conduct refresher training to new members of FSE staff as required.

Assess and approve grease trap sizing plans in accordance with standards BSEN1825 part 1 & 2 and PDI G101.

Support the Operations Manager with liaison with third party stakeholders such as subcontractors of the client, Environmental Health Officers and local authority departments when required


Prepare reports and attend all client networking events, including Comm Cell attendances as required for successful delivery of the Programme and promote the service at the client catchment/geographical level.

Lead and investigate high profile sites and take mitigating measures to prevent occurrence.


Lead to monitor the quality-of-service delivery and conduct quality control inspections on a systematic basis, reporting all anomalies and implementing corrective measures when requested.

Consistently check the prioritisation and scheduling of monitoring services for the team's workload.

Verify accuracy of sizing plans and calculations prior to approval


Mentor and coach Environmental Inspectors on how to successfully carry out service delivery, understand compliance requirements and all technical information required for the job.


Lead and take ownership to maintain high standards of qualitative data in all ECAS operating systems which includes Microsoft 365 and Eclipse, ensuring data remains confidential, secure and protected.

Contribute and proactively participate in the development and improvement of the integrated management system. This includes quality management, health and safety practices in the workplace and environment management.

Comply with all requirements within the integrated management system.


Salary:
£30,000.00-£34,500.00 per year
