Head of Finance.
You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £62,366 - £67,869 pa inc London Weighting


The Head of Finance role:


The
Head of Finance will be responsible for managing the provision of an effective and efficient Finance business partnering service to support the vision and mission of the College.


Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Head of Finance will deliver key projects and lead Financial system developments to improve service levels within the team.


Key Responsibilities of our Head of Finance:

  • Monitor the financial position of all cost centres on a monthly basis and provide support to budget managers. This will involve meeting with managers, providing financial advice and recommending to the Deputy Principal-Finance & Resources
  • Ensure a robust finance business partnering model is implemented which meets the needs of the organization
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts for presentation to the Deputy Principal-Finance & Resource.
  • Manage the preparation of the college's annual budget revenue and capital presentation to the Deputy Principal-Finance & Resource
  • Provide distributed leadership to the finance team in accordance with college policies and procedures
  • Deputise as required for the Deputy Principal-Finance & Resource, with regards to financial matters
  • Manage and complete the yearend financial accounts for presentation to the Deputy Principal-Finance & Resource
  • Manage the sales ledger, credit control and cashiering functions ensuring appropriate procedures to enable the college receive all incomedue, including its prompt collection and banking
  • Ensure that service standards are met in relation to all financial services

Our ideal Head of Finance should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A member of a recognised CCAB organization.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Senior leadership and management experience, within a further education setting in the UK
  • Demonstrable experience of budget setting, forecasting, budget management and control within a Further Education environment
  • Experience of compiling reports for senior management / Governing Body and making recommendations
  • Experience of introducing a new finance system within a medium sized organisation
  • Previous experience of project management and of introducing new finance processes together with experience of leading change management
  • Knowledge and experience of the FE landscape including current issues and future trends impacting on FE
