The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for a Teaching Assistant to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. You will play a key role in helping them develop their personalities and minds by exposing them to ideas and experiences that will help them gain a solid grounding in the world.

The successful
Teaching Assistant will be responsible for organising the classroom, supervising playtime/lunch time, managing behaviour alongside the class teacher and confidently leading interventions in small groups with lower ability children to raise attainment.

When needed, you will also be responsible for working on a 1:1 basis with SEN children.

TEACHING ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITES:_

  • Develop a careful and creative program suitable for young children
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build selfesteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colours, do crafts etc.)
  • Track children's progress and report to parents
  • Collaborate with other educators
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

£400.00-£500.00 per week

  • Finchley: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)
  • Classroom: 1 year (preferred)
