Opportunity for a general manager / operations manager to work with a newly established food production company overseeing the daily business operations, managing both the revenue and cost elements of the business.


The business is part of a company that has been established for over 38 years, supplying high quality, luxury foods and are supported by impeccable levels of customer service.

As the general manager / operations manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the sales, growth, new product development and quality of the business to achieve desirable profit-making results


Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily business operations ensuring high standards of compliance, quality and delivery are achieved, maintained and continuously reviewed for improvement
  • Managing the P&L, improving revenue and margin yearonyear
  • Creating and managing budgets together with the finance team
  • Generating and presenting reports at the monthly management account meetings and at board meetings
  • Controlling costs, managing cashflow and liquidity in partnership with the finance department and overseeing supplier and customer relationships
  • Ensuring all equipment is in good working order and fit for purpose by liaising with the production manager
  • Ensuring the appropriate management of the production equipment, liaising with the premises team as and when required
  • Researching, identifying and implementing growth opportunities to increase the customer base yearonyear
  • Experience as a general manager or operations manager within a food production environment
  • Previous experience developing a new product development programme ensuring product offerings are relevant and innovative
  • Solid technical understanding to achieve and maintain the BRC standards, compliance and any other appropriate accreditations

In return, the general manager / operations manager will receive a salary of £70,000 - £73,000 + company pension, medical health insurance + 25 holidays (excluding the bank holidays).
