Roofer Job Description

Gower Roofing Ltd is a family run business based on the Gower, Swansea. With over 30 years experience in the Roofing and Project Management trade, the company is looking for a well presented, enthusiastic and experienced
Roofer to come on board for this exciting journey.

Applicants should have experience in the roofing trade and be
willing to learn and
adapt when working with others. This position will involve using a range of different materials, such as slates, tiles or materials for flat roofs, as well as fitting skylights.

Experience and training in rubber roofing is preferable.

Day rate is negotiable starting at but not limited to
£100 per day depending on experience.

They would be considered as a
self employed subcontractor and would need to be registered for the CIS scheme with the potential of joining the company on a full time contracted basis after an initial trial probationary period.

Applicants should preferably have a
full clean UK driving licence as you would be provided with and required to
drive a company vehicleto get to and from site.

Although based in South Wales, Gower Roofing has expanded and is now covering contracts over the whole of the UK so applicants should be
willing to travel and work away from home (accommodation will be provided should it be needed).

Working hours will be between
7am-6pm (based on an 8 hour day) Monday to Friday with odd weekends however this can differ depending on the project.

If work is rained off, applicants would be expected to work weekends to make up for days lost due to poor weather conditions.

Applicants should have a basic knowledge of all site
health and safety procedures,
specifically working at height and be willing to
follow HSE guidelines.

You should also be prepared to manage and work with a labourer when needed to do so. Having your own tools would be preferable however not a must.


Responsibilities

• Using technical drawings and specifications
• Fitting materials to ensure the roof is fully weatherproof
• Working to building regulations
• Working safely at heights
• Installing skylights
• Working on historic or culturally significant buildings
• Creating decorative lead or metal items in keeping with the structure
