Description

Job overview
Do you have background in administration along with a desire to have an impact on patient care within Cancer Services?

We are recruiting two Administrators to work in the role of Assistant MDT Coordinator.

One role will have a base of work as Yeovil District Hospital and one will have a base of Musgrove Park Hospital, with the expectation of occasional travel between both sites.

These roles are flexible as we also offer the opportunity to work from home and we would consider applicants who are looking for flexible hours.

We are looking for someone who is excited about joining a large team where development and progression opportunities are available.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to pick up referrals for patients that have been referred by their GP for suspected cancers and liaise with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure that they have their 1st appointment timely.

You'll also assist the MDT Coordinators to track the pathway of suspected cancer patients against the national monitoring standards.

You'll join a team who are passionate about delivering the best possible service to our patients.

We are looking for someone who is a strong team player, has a good eye for detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

In return we can offer training, support with those who wish to work on their professional development, fun Away Days, flexible working (both onsite and working from home), and a great team to work alongside

Working for your organisation

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines.

You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone
