In 2019 Wilks joined the Flexiteek Group. Flexiteek was founded in 2000 and is the original market-leading manufacturer of synthetic teak decking. Many of the original decks laid are still going strong.

There is a worldwide reach relying on a global distributor network and over 200 of the world's leading boat builders.

We are looking for a motivated individual to become part of our team and develop alongside us.

Our toolroom is responsible for the design of new tooling for our PVC extrusion machines, the cutting of die, trialling dies on extrusion machines to produce customer samples as well as the maintenance of existing tooling.


Role responsibilities:

- to assist in the preparation of materials to be used in tooling;
- to assist in the finishing of new tooling;
- to assist in the maintenance of existing tooling;
- to operate essential plant and equipment, under supervision;
- to assist with die trials on PVC extrusion machinery;
- to assist the Toolroom Manager with CAD drawing of engineering designs;
- to complete all necessary paperwork to a required standard and deadlines;
- work towards achieving a Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.


Qualification Requirement
Must have GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade A*-C/9-4)

Location:
Woodrolfe Road, Tollesbury, Maldon, Essex CM9 8RY

Hours:
Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00 (40 hours per week) with a one hour unpaid lunch break.

This is a 4 year apprenticeship and during term time you will be required to attend Colchester Institute one day per week.

During the first year this will be at their campus at Braintree and during years 2, 3 and 4 at their campus in Colchester.


Contract:
Initial fixed-term contract to cover the period of the apprenticeship. On satisfactory completion of the programme a full-time permanent contract will be issued.

Start date:
Monday 9 September 2024.


Salary:
£17,900 per annum which will be reviewed on the successful completion of each academic year and thereafter in January each year.


Benefits: 20 days' holiday (plus bank holidays) with incremental increases after 2 years' service up to a maximum of 25 days after 5 years.

Contributory Pension Scheme (5% Employee/3% Employer)


Company sick pay of 5 paid sick days per calendar year accruing to a maximum of 20 days per calendar year if untaken.
