Description
Pilgrims Hospices is looking for a friendly Cook to join our team on a full-time basis, producing fresh meals for patients and staff according to a daily menu at our Canterbury hospice site.
The Role
As a Cook you will work as part of a team to ensure our hospice can consistently cater a 365 day organisation.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Producing nutritionally balanced meals for patients, staff and visitors according to a daily menu.
- Liaising with other professionals in respect of special diets, that might be required for individual patients.
- Ensuring the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times.
- Providing supervision and guidance to Catering Assistants.
- Deputising for the Head Chef as required.
The post holder must ensure that food preparation is completed to a high standard, in line with standards expected within a healthcare and catering environment.

About You
To be successful in this role you should:
- Have experience of working in a professional kitchen or similar environment
- Possess Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and / or relevant catering qualifications
- Ability to work using own initiative and without supervision
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
