Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Global Mobility Operations_
- Provide comprehensive advice on all international secondment and permanent transfer requests as required, to include immigration, taxation, social security, labour law, benefits and logístical matters.
- Oversee the execution of all international moves and ensure that the relevant downstream initiations are effected (both internally and externally) in anticipation of the projected start date.
- Ensure that all international secondment and permanent transfer requests are accompanied by the appropriate business case and that the required approval protocols are followed.
- Preparation and/or review of cost projections for each international move.
- Review of draft secondment/transfer contractual documentation prior to issue; preparation of contractual documentation in more complex cases.
- Lead individual secondee/transferee predeparture briefings, as well as postarrival & repatriation checkins.
- Initial review of policy exception or offprogramme requests and escalation to Head of Global Mobility for concur review and approval.
- Ownership of the annual cyclical activities calendar for Global Mobility and execution of the related processes to include secondment allowances review, accommodation budget refresh, contractual template reviews.
- Liaison with external vendors (immigration, tax, relocation, expatriate data, travel agencies) to ensure smooth ongoing service delivery and prompt resolution of any casespecific challenges or service issues.
Global Mobility Outreach_
- Lead all mobility checkin calls with core stakeholder groups
- Group & Country HR Business Partners, HR Shared Services, Finance, among others.
- Deliver ongoing training and promote knowledge sharing (within HR and beyond) to improve the overall understanding of mobility matters in the firm and the associated opportunities and risks, particularly for new joiners to the relevant function(s).
- Act as an informal mentor to colleagues outside Global Mobility who have handson involvement with the mobility lifecycle e.g. International HRSS Assistants, Country HR BPs.
- Represent Global Mobility in crossfunction projects and consultations, seeking direction from the Head of Global Mobility where required.
Relevant Experience
- Working in a global legal, professional or financial services firm.
- Working as part of a global mobility team, preferably in a Centre of Excellence / GM business partnering context.
- Working asynchronously with colleagues in across time zones and cultures.
- Advising on all aspects of the international mobility lifecycle, including tax, immigration and possibly regulatory matters for lawyers.
- Business process improvement activity, including review of existing approaches and design/implementation of new ones.
- Dealing with highly articulate stakeholders in ambiguous, pressured, timesensitive instances.
- Managing expectations confidently, even during rapidly evolving situations.
You may have experience of:_
- Working with HR systems (Oracle, Workday, SuccessFactors)
- Working with Global Mobility platforms (AssignmentPro, Business traveller tracker tools)
- Living in another country as an expatriate.
