Young Adults Support Worker in Depaul UK, where you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering individuals on their journey towards independence.


About Us:


Role Overview:


As
Young Adults Support Worker at our service in
Westminster, London, you will work along young people to move towards independence and ensure that they are able to take control of decisions affecting their lives.


You will focus on providing quality support to clients as well as undertaking a range of support, housing management and administration duties.

You will also manage a caseload of young people, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs; supporting them to progress towards independence.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the smooth running of the project, implementing house rules and organisational policies and procedures as required.
  • Interview and assess the suitability of referrals to the criteria and objectives of the project and provide written feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
  • Build supportive relationships with our young people while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Deal with challenging behavior in an appropriate and sensitive manner, keeping within the boundaries of policies and procedures and recording meetings and incidents appropriately.
  • Create holistic support plans and risk assessments with clients and undertaking regular reviews to ensure goals are identified and met.


Please note that this job opportunity is offered as a full-time (37.5 hours a week), permanent role with
a 7-day rolling rota (between 8am-8pm) including weekends and bank holidays.

What We Are Looking For - Person Specification:

  • Experience of working in a residential housing project for young people experiencing homelessness
  • Experience of involving clients in the way services are designed to meet their needs
  • Knowledge / understanding of the principle causes and effects of youth homelessness.
  • Knowledge of the support needs of young people and how they might be best met including what statutory and voluntary resources are available.
