    Job description: Are you looking for a rewarding role as a SENCO in a welcoming secondary school in Preston?

The role involves:

  • Developing and implementing the school's SEN policy and provision
  • Leading and managing a team of SEN teachers and support assistants
  • Providing professional guidance and training to staff on how to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Assessing and monitoring the progress and attainment of students with SEND
  • Liaising with parents, carers, external agencies and other schools to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Ensuring that the school complies with the latest statutory requirements and best practices for SEND
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised SENCO qualification
  • Experience of working as a SENCO in a secondary school setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current SEND legislation, policies and procedures
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to inclusion and diversity
  • A passion for supporting students with SEND and helping them achieve their potential
