Job description: Are you looking for a rewarding role as a SENCO in a welcoming secondary school in Preston?
The role involves:
- Developing and implementing the school's SEN policy and provision
- Leading and managing a team of SEN teachers and support assistants
- Providing professional guidance and training to staff on how to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Assessing and monitoring the progress and attainment of students with SEND
- Liaising with parents, carers, external agencies and other schools to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Ensuring that the school complies with the latest statutory requirements and best practices for SEND
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised SENCO qualification
- Experience of working as a SENCO in a secondary school setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the current SEND legislation, policies and procedures
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to inclusion and diversity
- A passion for supporting students with SEND and helping them achieve their potential
